Open the Door!

 I love the lessons of life.  There are moments I feel the Lord directing lessons right toward me.  Last week I had this lesson that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about.  

At work, we all have a security key fob that has different accesses to departments of the company. One of my coworkers stopped by my office to let me now that she needed access to the IT room.  I shared with her that I believe she already had access to the door.  All she needed to do was open it. She questioned and doubt herself for a few moments and then she proceeded to walk through the open door. I laughed with her and shared how she always had the power to access the open doors, she didn’t believe in the door opening and doubted herself.

BAM!!! It hit me. 

How many of us have the power inside of us to see doors open yet we hold disbelief in our heart and fail to walk through.  The same way I knew she had access to that room and the same way I knew that access could get her into any room in the building, our Heavenly Father is saying, “Through me I have given you complete access to not only open the door, but to walk boldly through it. I have opened doors that no man can shut.You can experience Heaven on Earth.  

We have the access. We have the power. 

My prayer for you who is reading this tonight..May you see the power working inside of you. May you have doors opened in this week and may you have complete access to the things the Lord would have for you.

Real vs Fake

I’ve been spending some time working outside this spring. In NW Ohio, the weather has been like a roller coaster. My closet currently doesn’t know what season it is! Anyway, since I’ve been spending more time outside, I’ve started noticing the flowers on people’s homes as I drive by. It gives me a sense of encouragement—like, yes, I  can  grow a flower all season without letting it die! It also inspires my creativity as I think about what else I’d like to add to our home. One day, I was driving past a couple of houses and noticed these bright, perfect flowers. They looked like they came straight out of  Better Homes & Gardens . How could something look so easy to grow and so perfect? Then one day, while scrolling through Facebook, I saw an ad for fake flowers in hanging pots available on Amazon.
